
Indian beauty queen Sushmita Sen was overflowing with gratitude as she looked back to her crowning moment as Miss Universe 1994.
The prestigious pageant, held in Manila, was a historic one because Sushmita became the first Indian to win the title.
Sushmita uploaded a carousel of throwback photos on Instagram from that moment she won Miss Universe and wrote in the caption that winning the title “opened a lot of opportunities.”
She shared, “21st May 1994… ️#Manila

She continued, “Opening up a world of possibilities, highlighting the strength of hope, the power of inclusion, the generosity of love…

She also remembered her loved ones and supporters here in the Philippines.

Last 2017, she returned to the Philippines and became one of the judges during the 65th Miss Universe, wherein Iris Mittenaere won.
Also, one of the highlights of Sushmita's homecoming in the Philippines was meeting four Pinays who were named after her on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
