The lives of two girls have begun to change as they become unwitting pawns in a world of intrigue, forbidden love, family loyalty and superstition in GMA’s newest afternoon drama, Princess Charming. Headlining this new series are Eunice Lagusad and Crystal Reyes, the two child stars who made us cry every night as the young Kristal and Charming in the primetime teleserye Bakekang. Doña Amparo Saavedra (Chanda Romero) plays the mean antagonist and it is her actions that send into motion the series of events that will lead to the switched lives of Princess and Charming. Owing her business empire to fortune telling, Doña Amparo wishes her son to similarly consult the stars so to speak. However, Enrico (Zoren Legaspi) refuses to follow her lead. Strong-willed that she is, Doña Amparo won’t take things sitting down and decides to meddle in the her son’s life. A fortune teller says that Enrico’s wife Mabel (Carmina Villaroel) will only bring bad luck to their family and that her child will cause the Saavedra family’s downfall. Given such prophecy, Doña Amparo tasks her secretary Aleli (Jade Lopez) to get rid of her granddaughter, while she gets another child to replace her. Aleli gives the unwanted child to her cousin Ronald (Allan Paule) and his wife Sofia (Mylene Dizon), not knowing what kind of life awaits the baby. As the babies are switched, the stories of Princess and Charming unfold. Princess grows up in a life of luxury and gets everything a child would want except the love of the mother who raised her. On the other hand, Charming is treated as nothing more than a maid by the family who adopted her. Many lives become entwined as they try to keep secrets, and hurt, protect, and love Princess and Charming. Two kind souls, Inyo (Mark Herras) and Sushmita (Mel Martinez), become Charming’s protectors from her abusive foster mother, and her equally cruel daughter Vanessa (Joy Folloso). Although Princess isn’t hurt physically, she experiences the same difficulties of acceptance in the family of Doña Amparo. Join Princess and Charming as they face the challenges ahead in their quest for love and affection. Princess Charming airs weekdays after Makita Ka Lang Muli.
