A new tourist attraction called Ain Dubai just opened on October 21, Thursday, and it's hailed as the tallest observation wheel in the world, standing at over 250 meters or over 820 feet.
Ain Dubai is located in Bluewaters Island, a destination known for its exclusive island living and sophisticated urban lifestyle.
It takes 38 minutes to complete one rotation and has 48 cabins that can house up to 40 guests. Thus, it is capable of carrying up to 1,750 people at once.
Ten countries reportedly worked together to build it using the two largest cranes in the world.
Ain Dubai's steel wheel structure was produced across the UAE, South Korea and Germany, while the engineering and project management expertise were provided by the UK, France, and the Netherlands.
It is said that 11,200 tons of steel were used for its construction, which is 33 percent more than the amount of steel used to build the iconic Eiffel Tower in France.
The Ain Dubai was built as part of Dubai's continued effort to establish their country as a top tourist and lifestyle destination.
The attraction joins other tourist and entertainment destinations established by Dubai Holding Corporation, the personal entertainment portfolio of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, which includes Dubai Parks and Resorts, Global Village, Coca-Cola Arena, Roxy Cinemas, leading waterparks and many more.
Before the Ain Dubai was established, the record for the world's tallest Ferris wheel in operation was held in 2014 by the High Roller in Las Vegas, which stands at a height of 167.5 meters or about 550 feet.
And before the High Roller, it was the Singapore Flyer that held the record, reaching a height of 165 meters or 541 feet.
