On Tuesday, August 12, Taylor shocked her fans when a mysterious countdown clock appeared on her official website.

The next day, she confirmed the news of a new album during the Wednesday episode of the New Heights Show podcast, co-hosted by her boyfriend and Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, along with his brother Jason.

"This album is about what was going on behind the scenes of my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant. It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, and so that effervesence has come through on this record," Taylor shared on the podcast, revealing that her recent Eras Tour was the inspiration behind her new album.

The 14-time Grammy winner last released The Tortured Poets Department, a 31-track double album, in April 2024. She also recently wrapped up a nearly two-year world tour, which earned a staggering $2 billion and set new records.
