Taylor Swift is keeping her showgirl era alive, but this time, in a cozy acoustic vibe!
The pop superstar announced on Instagram that she has re-recorded eight songs from The Life of a Showgirl into acoustic versions with producers Max Martin and Shellback. These tracks will be featured on four limited-edition CDs, now available in her webstore for 24 hours.
“File this under 'save your best for the finale,'” she wrote.
Taylor revealed that one of her favorite moments on tour was performing the “acoustic surprises,” which inspired her to record acoustic versions of some songs from her latest album.
“Cannot WAIT for you to hear,” she said before unveiling the eight tracks.
The Life of a Showgirl (Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version) CD includes “The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version)” and “Eldest Daughter (Now You're Home Acoustic Version).” Meanwhile, the Dressing Room Rehearsal Version features “Wi$h Li$t (Sett”ed Down Acoustic Version)” and “The Life of a Showgirl (Dressing Room Rehearsal Acoustic Version).” The Life Is a Song Acoustic Version pairs “Opalite (Life Is a Song Acoustic Version)” with “Ruin the Friendship (My Advice Version),” while the So Glamorous Cabaret Version includes two takes on “Elizabeth Taylor” -- the So Glamorous Cabaret Version and the Original Songwriting Voice Memo.
In addition to including two acoustic bonus tracks each, the four CDs feature new cover artworks inspired by scenes from the “The Fate of Ophelia” music video, which premiered on Monday, October 6.
The Life of a Showgirl was released on Friday, October 3. Since its release, Spotify confirmed that Taylor's latest album has achieved the most single-day streams on the platform in 2025 so far.
