Antoinette's fans and showbiz friends missed her terribly and were delighted when they saw the 32-year-old back in the Philippines after staying in Los Angeles for ten years.

Even with a hiatus in Philippine show business for over a decade, the name Antoinette Taus still rings a bell. This star from the 90’s won the affection of many as she appeared in several popular projects like
Anna Karenina, SOP Rules, Love Stories, and
Click among others.
It could be for that reason that fans and showbiz friends missed her terribly and were delighted when they saw the 32-year-old back in the Philippines after staying in Los Angeles for ten years.
One of the things that Antoinette, or Toni as she is fondly called, is famous for was her love team with now GMA Primetime King Dingdong Dantes. The love team not only captured the hearts of audiences, but also eventually became a real-life couple.
Toni admits that Dingdong was her first love and that working with him was a wonderful experience. “…It was exciting kasi those were the years that I fell in love for the first time,” she said.
The couple gained more supporters project after project, but the relationship was tested when Toni made the decision to move to the United States to fulfill her dreams.
“Nung nag-States (ako) dati, nag-bakasyon lang. Actually, nag-recording din ako ng album dun. Nagustuhan na ako i-sign up ng isang agency pero ‘di ako makapag-commit sa kanila kasi sabi nila, ‘if you were gonna sign with us, you have to live in the United States,'” she shared.
Although she needed to leave so much behind, she acknowledged that great achievements involve great risks, so she went to the U.S. to pursue a career there. Meanwhile, her relationship with Dingdong remained intact, and they’d visit each other every now and then. After three years of the long distance relationship, however, they knew they needed to part ways.
“It was time, kasi three years na kami naglo-long distance nung time na 'yun eh. So pati 'yung mga ginagawa ko sa States, medyo na-o-off din kasi balik ako ng balik dito, and then he also was visiting me there, (but) you know, everything happens for a reason,” she declared.
Both Toni and Dingdong are happy with their separate romantic lives now, but she considers their relationship before as inexplicable.
“I have to say na it was a really intense, passionate, super romantic, parang Romeo and Juliet na fairy tale na ‘di mo ma-explain,” she said.
