Naniniwala ang Kapuso director na si Direk Dominic Zapata na ang susi para makagawa ng isang nakakatawang comedy show ay dapat ito ay sumasalamin sa nangyayari in real life.
Kuwento ng acclaimed director ng
Ismol Family, isang payo raw ng yumaong action star Rudy ‘Daboy’ Fernandez ang lagi niyang isinasapuso.
Ani Direk Dominic, “I think that precisely our operative term is also to make it real.
Pero the more I do it, the more we do it, of course there’s a kind of may usong humor din. But I call it absurd humor when we’re doing Boy Pick-up the movie. It’s completely absurd and that’s what’s funny about it. But there is also a kind of humor where you can totally relate to it and you find it, ‘Oo ganyan ngayon!'”
Relatable Characters
Dagdag ni Direk Zapata, “So the show extends beyond just humor as a reality but also we're talking [about] family. It’s in the title. It’s a family. So ‘yung family dynamics have to be inherent. They have to be present in the show, otherwise baguhin na lang natin ‘yung title.”
“We want the audience kasi to be able to relate to the characters. It makes it more sticky. If I’m not able to relate to a character, I can just watch a show and tune out the following week and I’ll just watch whenever I want to kasi I’m not stuck to it. But if I’m able to relate to a character, I feel like 'Ay ganyan ako, ako si Majay.'”
