Problems of the heart? Don't fret because the newest love guru is in town! Armed with his vast experience on the subject, Marvin Agustin proves that he is not only a good actor and chef, but also an authority when it comes to giving advice and opinions to matters pertaining to the heart. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez, Photos by Jason Lim Every Sunday, GMA is set to bring you a new show that will give us a chance to share our problems and difficulties - Dear Friend. Hosted by Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal, this show aims to offer a venue for our Kapuso viewers to unload their burdens and receive suggestions and opinions that may help them alleviate their situations. starsDear Friend In the tradition of Lovingly Yours, Helen and Magpakailanman, Dear Friend is another show that caters to the problems of our Kapuso viewers via dramatization of their stories. Each episode will be based on the life of a letter sender and at the end of the show the host will give his/her recommendations. However, Dear Friend has a little twist that differentiates this program from its predecessors. Having two hosts to give their opinions and suggestions, Dear Friend has a He Said, She Said portion where Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal will tell the viewers what they think about the letter sender's situation. "Spontaneous ang sasabihin namin and based sa experience namin at experience ng mga kaibigan at kakilala namin," shares Marvin to the press. He also highlighted that what they will say on television are not from scripts but their own views on the subject. "Ang suggestion ko nga sa staff e painumin kami ng wine habang nagte-taping para mas free-flowing ang advices na lalabas sa amin! Maganda yun(smiles)!" Love expert When it comes to the subject of love Marvin has a lot to say, having been in various relationships in the past. He however acknowledges his detractors' comments that he is not qualified to give advice out in public. stars"May mga nagtatanong kung ano ba ang credibility namin ni Jolens na magbigay ng advice. Tama ba na kami ang padalan ng mga problema sa buhay? Siguro naman dahil sa mga pinagdaanan namin ni Jolens sa buhay, masasabi namin na puno kami ng iba't ibang klase ng experiences at napagdaanan na namin ang ilang problema ng kabataan ngayon," was his defense and reply to those who questions his credibility. He also clarifies that he will give his opinions rather than advice to the situations of the letter senders. "Mas actually opinion than advice e, kung anong tingin namin sa sitwasyon nila than advice," explains the award-winning actor. He invites everyone, especially teenagers to send in their stories and promises that they will enjoy watching this show. "Masaya ito kaya panoorin nila tuwing Sunday, matututwa sila sa mga pinagsasabi namin ni Jolina dito, hindi namin sinunod 'yung script e (laughs) Nag enjoy kami ni Jolina dito."
