Raymart Santiago once again celebrated fatherhood with the arrival of Santino, his second child from wife Claudine Barretto. How does this versatile actor spend time with his new baby and Sabina? Mauricio Like any normal dad Newlyweds Raymart Santiago and Claudine Baretto recently celebrated the birth of a healthy boy named Santino. According to the new father, Santino means little Martin which is Raymart’s second name. The renowned couple is happy with the continuous growth of their new family. Though having a baby is truly a blissful event Raymart admits that he’s a little cautious in taking care of baby Santino, “Siyempre happy, takot pa ko eh masyado pang maliit (yung baby).” But this slight apprehension won’t stop this caring father from showing his unconditional love for his children. Raymart reveals that he and Claudine prefer to stay at home for more hands-on bonding time with Sabina and Santino, “We don’t go out so yung free time namin we spend it with the kids. Yung quality time namin is everyday sa bahay.” Raymart’s reiterates a typical day in their household, “First two days sa amin si Santino, pero we had to move him kasi nahirapan kami ni Claudine magpahinga, pero pag siesta sa amin siya” he carefully explains that because of their irregular schedules as an actor, they decided to move the newborn to his own room for Santino’s own advantage. Aside from Santino another angel that Raymart is blessed to have is Sabina, Claudine’s adopted daughter who Raymart sincerely loves, “Now, I’m fixing the adoption papers kasi kay Claudine pa siya so inaayos pa namin yung Santiago.” Raymart might not be Sabina’s biological father but treats her like his own, giving Sabina the love she truly deserves. He proudly shares that Sabina is the sun in his life, brightening up his day no matter how stressful it was, “Pag nakikita mo laging naka smile si Sabina happy baby. In the morning yung (ibang) bata cranky siya hindi mag kikiss (mag) I love you tsaka pag-nakikita ako nag lilight up yung eyes niya!” You could actually see Raymart’s face light up with joy as he excitedly talks about Sabina. Looking forward Since Santino and Sabina are born into showbiz royalty, we can’t help but wonder will their parents allow them to join the industry in case the kids are inclined? “Sana hindi pero kung yun yung gusto nila. Baka doon pa lang sa school stage dad na ako” he jokingly remarked. Being a supportive parent isn’t the only thing Raymart is willing to give to his children, he would also like to impart a little wisdom he learned from his deceased father, “Huwag aapak ng maliliit na tao, huwag mang bastos saka respect diba.” Another thing that Raymart would like his children to inherit is Claudine’s nurturing side, “Ayoko makuha nila yung pagkatahimik ko kasi yun yung laging kinocomplain sa akin.” Raymart might be “suplado” on the outside but deep down he’s like any father: loving, caring and will ultimately give his entirety to the people he values and loves unconditionally.
