Discover why Bitoy's Funniest Videoes performs well in the ratings game straight from the mastermind himself.
Funny, embarrassing and downright entertaining, Bitoy’s Funniest Videos (BFV) has been featuring hilarious videos and practical jokes for more than three years now. Discover why this show performs well in the ratings game straight from the mastermind himself, Michael V. a.k.a. Bitoy. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez. Photos by Xylen Geecel A. Punelas. Your Saturday viewing habits would not be complete without the amusing video clips, pranks and disguises of Michael V. in Bitoy’s Funniest Videos. Together with his creative team, Bitoy has been working hard to come up with an interesting 60-minute show every week and has many anecdotes to tell and share what goes on behind the scenes of BFV. starsA prank gone awry Being in the practical joke’s business required Bitoy to have an insight of the outcome of all the pranks that he and his staff would perform in the show. But there were a number of occasions when even with all the precautions, their trick still managed to blow up in their faces. “There was a time na muntik na akong mabalibag ng television set. Na-foresee ko na e, na baka pag na-corner ko 'yung tao, batuhin ako ng kahit anong available doon [sa room]. So pinatanggal ko 'yung mga trophies, pinatanggal ko 'yung mga knives, pinatanggal ko 'yung mga cans, pero ang hindi ko inaasahan 'yung television set (laughs). Binuhat ni Bertong tv sa takot niya, akala niya papatayin ko siya,” shares the premier comedian. He acknowledges that they are aware of pushing the limits at times but still they can’t seem to stop themselves from doing these practical jokes, all for the love of the show. “Hindi ko nga alam, every single time na mag ‘ya-yari ka’ kami, parang we are actually pushing the limits palagi. Minsan nag bo-border na dun sa nakakatakot, scary na minsan e. So, ewan ko 'di ko alam 'yung limitations.” starsBut folks don’t worry, Bitoy assures us that their aim is to entertain and make people laugh. As the Creative Director of the show, he has the prerogative to say no to a few pranks and of course he is aware and conscious of what still is appropriate to the general viewers. “When I say no, may valid reasons, sinusuportahan din naman nung ibang mga kasamahan ko,” says Bitoy reassuringly. So forget your worries and wipe off that glum look on your face. Tune in to Bitoy’s Funniest Videos every Saturday right after Kakasa Ka Ba sa Grade 5? for your weekly dose of laughs and amusement.
