Fans of this eccentric pair will be excited to know they've made the great exchange--they're now part of the Kapuso Network!
Who doesn't know Ariel and Maverick--the duo that makes an impression everywhere they go? With their outrageous outfits and accessories, it is really quite impossible not to notice them. And as they go off to a new adventure, what they are up to and where is definitely something worth reading about. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez. “Balita namin kami ang pinaka-paboritong artista ng GMA ngayon,” quips Ariel when iGMA chance upon them at the GMA Network. The two have been constantly visible in the network and its shows for the past months and it seems that they are here to stay. New Misadventures? After the success of their reality show on another network, Ariel and Maverick are off to start a new one. This time around, they are making their mark in the Kapuso network. But what exactly are they doing in GMA? “Siguro GMA wants to have new faces,” declares Ariel nonchalantly. “Siguro [dahil] kami 'yung isa sa mga pinaka-gwapong komedyante na makukuha mo, 'di ba?” says Maverick rather proudly, which left us wondering whether he is joking or not. That is the charm of these two gentlemen. They are serious comedians. This may seem as a contradiction of sorts but indeed, it is hard to determine whether they are really telling a joke or whether they are quite serious. This is what they are offering to the loyal Kapuso viewers—their own brand of humor and a whole lot more. What’s Next? So now that they have jumped networks, what’s in store for the dynamic duo? Soon, they will be seen in an exciting new game show that will give the Kapuso viewers a chance to bring home loads of money. Meanwhile, being pioneers of local reality TV, Ariel and Maverick traveled to Nepal for an episode of Pinoy Meets World and looked like they had a blast. They proved that the Nepalese are not immune to the Pinoy humor and gave everybody a good laugh, not to mention a very informative show. They also became the hired K!llers in All-Star K! and made the kid contestants forget their Bahay Kubos and nursery rhymes, with their wacky comments and funny faces. So what can they say about their new home? “Actually the first network na talagang we guested out of the channel we came from before was channel 7. We were guests of Cool Ka Lang for a month and we thought na it would be dire-diretso. Good thing naman after five years naisip kami ulit (smiles) at naisama kami sa pangarap ng GMA,” shares Maverick. So there, it’s confirmed! We will definitely be seeing a lot of these two.
