That’s another Paolo in the roster of stars in the Kapuso network. Three years after his freelance stint in show business, Paolo Paraiso signs up with the GMA Artist Center and now eagerly waits for that “special event in his showbiz career”.

Why exactly did Paolo choose to be part of the Kapuso network?
“When I spoke with Miss Yda (AVP and Head of GMA Artist Center), feeling ko our relationship would be perfect” he replies without hesitation. “(I had) this gut feeling na okay ang mangyayari kasi magkakasundo (kami). Ako kasi ang mentality ko sa manager, it’s not the work they bring in, it’s the relationship you have” he adds.
Even before coming to an agreement with the network, Paolo has already appeared in most of its shows and participated in its special events. The model-turned-actor shares his most recent memorable experience was the
Kapusolympics , where he played for the Purple Team and won second place.
At this point, Paolo still considers himself as a newcomer in showbiz. “I’m still learning” he admits. “But ang thinking ko as an actor, kahit anong ibigay sa’kin, mapa-comedy, mapa-action o drama, dapat kaya kong gawin.”
The budding actor
Having a mother for a model and the beauty queen Yogi Domiguez for an aunt, Paolo feels he already has “one foot in the modeling world”. He started as a part-time model at age 17, and devoted all his time to the job after graduating from college at 21.
“I’m just being myself every time I walk sa ramp” he says. “Siguro 'yung first acting experience ko (is) kapag nasa rampa ako. I have to be confident all the time, kasi as a person, shy talaga ako” he shares.
Being part of show business was initially not part of his plans either.
Dapat talaga may talent ka” he immediately rebounds.
First Big Step
Paolo is keen to improve his acting skills especially now that he belongs to the Kapuso network.
At present, he is shooting the movie
Banal , a story on a SWAT (Swift Action Team) member’s life, with
Alfred Vargas and Christopher de Leon.
Banal is Comguild’s official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
