Joyce makes the jump from the sexy roles she’s known for to comedy, by joining the show as a mainstay!
When Nuts Entertainment restructured their show and took in two new celebrities to join their wacky family, who would have thought that Joyce Jimenez would fit in the group perfectly? From fantasy to fun-tastic, Joyce makes the jump from the sexy roles she’s known for to comedy, by joining the show as a mainstay! A very laidback and animated Joyce Jimenez greeted iGMA during a set visit to the popular KiliTV program, Nuts Entertainment. While she was having her make-up applied, iGMA got to know just who Joyce Jimenez is and why she joined the show. “Kinuha nila ako eh!” Joyce exclaimed with a laugh. “I think it’s an advantage for me to start with comedy para hindi ako ma-stereotype as a sexy actress,” Joyce added as explanation. “Being an actress means you have to be versatile and I think I’d be more comfortable doing comedy than drama.” After disappearing from the public eye to finish her studies abroad, Joyce is now ready to get back into the entertainment industry. “I (was) semi-retired, ‘cause I started going back to school. And then after that I went to school full-time in Australia. So now is the perfect time for me to slowly get back into things again.” With the addition of Alfred Vargas and Joyce to the show, Nuts Entertainment had become a little naughtier and a little sexier. Joyce shared, “Not everyone’s humor is the same. Some things that are funny to some people may not be funny to others. (By mixing) sexiness in it, it caters to a lot more people. (The show) gives something different; it’s not normal slapstick comedy anymore.” “Kasi our crowd talaga is ‘yung may edad na,” Joyce explained, saying that the show comes on at a late time so the people watching are those who can stay up late, not just those who watch the usual teleseryes. “That’s the crowd that we’re trying to market to. I think it’s important (to know) who you want to watch your show and who you think is watching your show.” With an all-new Nuts Entertainment, iGMA asked what people should expect to see from Joyce in the show. Joyce gamely answered, “(A) pie in my face!” “I think they’ll see a totally different me,” Joyce continued. “Because I think when people see (celebrities), they have this idea that we’re not game, we’re not like this, we’re like that. So if they see me (here), they see a different side of me. Kasi here, I’m able to show that real side of me that is medyo kenkoy. Not just the regular Joyce Jimenez, Scorpio Nights 2, whatever.” As for the show itself, “The games are still there, but it’s a little bit more pilyo. You still have the typical pie in the face and stuff, but the consequences of why you get them is just a lot more fun.” That’s certainly something to look forward to!
