The original Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema insists that he does his stunts without a double and proves that he is the real action hero of the Philippines.
Robin Padilla is at it again! Bold, brave and bad, Binoe has shown how intense and serious he is when it comes to doing his stunts and action scenes. With little concern for potentially life-threatening feats, the original Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema insists that he does his stunts without a double and proves that he is the real action hero of the Philippines. Actor
Robin Padilla has proven time and again that he will do anything just to make his action scenes as real as possible. In the action-adventure,
Joaquin Bordado, the actor has put his life in danger a number of times to make sure that he imbibe his character through and through.
Fearless and bold
Robin had a near accident rappelling from a tall building while filming the early episodes of the show, but did not stop doing daring scenes. He had a
motorcycle accident where he injured his back and hand, but still continued being fearless and bold. He even suggested to take on not just one wild animal but two, a tiger and a python just to make the series
Joaquin Bordado believable as possible.

He further said that ordinarily he wouldn’t think of getting near a real tiger or a python but since the story revolves around a character who consistently deals with these animals, he decided to risk doing a scene with them.
Si Joaquin ay invincible so dapat makita ng tao ‘yun, how can you say that he is invincible kung puro computer [effects] tayo?” This was Robin’s convincing argument which led the GMA network people to allow him to do this dangerous scene.
But during the taping, Robin did not expect how these animals would react to the stunt. The result was a bite from the tiger and a near death experience with the python. But being a real professional, his experience with these animals were just treated as an ordinary taping day for him with lots of insightful experience to refer to in the future.
What does it take to be an action star?
Though Binoe has made countless films and shows where he has demonstrated how capable and how effective he is when it comes to doing action-adventure scenes, the actor still admitted that he still went through rigorous trainings to prepare for
Joaquin Bordado.

He also said that after his 12-weeks stay at the hotel, he continued his training at the network.
'Yung mga panahon na nakikita ako na tumatakbo araw-gabi sa network, yun 'yung panahon na wala na akong pambayad sa hotel (laughs),” says Robin flashing his dashing smile while describing the hurdles he had to surmount in order to prepare for this show.
Also, to keep his body trim and fit he divulges that he has denounced eating the Filipino’s staple food.
“Hindi po ako nag ri-rice. Magmula nung natapos ang
Asian Treasures, hindi na.”
Though he admits that this is a big sacrifice on his part he gave this rationale to us. (laughs)” was his open-ended reason.
Truly it will take some time before someone equal Robin Padilla’s feat as an action star. His dedication to his craft is commendable and his discipline when it comes to portraying a role is just one of a kind.
