After being eliminated from 'StarStruck V,' Sef Cadayona still plans to stick with the entertainment industry.
It may be the season of giving, pero hindi pa rin nakatakas si Sef Cadayona from elimination last Sunday on 'StarStruck V.' And we were there with him para malaman kung ano na ang plano niyang gawin, now that he's out of the competition. Text by Jason John Lim. Photos by Naomi V. Pitargue. Sunday, December 27, ang malawak na Studio 7 ang naging temporary home ng StarStruck V para sa kanilang Christmas Kiss Flick awards night. At itong studio rin ang naging witness sa pagbabalik nina Sef Cadayona and Princess Snell sa bottom group for the second week in a row, this time joined by Rox Montealegre. If the week before, nakatakas si Sef from being eliminated, this time around, it's his turn to end his StarStruck journey. Sef Cadayona Positive pa rin si Sef nang makausap namin siya after the live elimination episode—he doesn't see his elimination as an end, but rather a beginning. "Yun ngang turo sa akin ng step dad ko at saka nanay ko, pagka-nadapa ka, ‘wag mong hahawakan 'yung sugat mo, aaray ka. Tayo ka agad, tapos, takbo ka." And in his current case, Sef plans to do exactly that. Natanggal man siya sa StarStruck, he knows na may pupuntahan pa rin siya. "Ang goal ko naman talaga is dancing—and comedy." Sef plans to pursue a career in the entertainment industry still. And he plans on learning new things while here—like singing. He tells us, "idol ko talaga si Michael Jackson." And as such, Sef says he will do whatever is in his power para makamit ang success ng idol niya. "Kahit bits and pieces lang." And Sef is sure na makukuha niya ang mga pangarap niya—through his faith. "Sabi ko, 'God. Kayong bahala.' Everything has a reason." Sa mga maiiwan naman niya sa StarStruck, Sef has this to say: "Siguro alam na nilang sasabihin ko 'to, pero: magdasal. Iba ang power of prayer. Pag na-discourage sila, magdasal sila." Princess, second-time sa bottom group Isang very tearful Princess Snell ang bumati sa amin backstage matapos ng live episode ng StarStruck V. At hindi niya itinago sa amin ang dahilan, "iba na 'yung feeling ngayon e—pag na-bottom three na naman ako, tanggal na ako e." Princess tells us during the interview na the first time she was at the bottom group, okay lang sa kanya dahil hindi naman siya 'yung natanggal. But this second time, she confesses na may feeling na, "wala na akong magagawa. Alam ko na may ipapakita pa ako, pero hindi ko na kayang ipakita." "Siyempre mas malungkot 'yung kay Sef dahil natanggal na siya," she adds. Pero, Princess explains na iba talaga na as soon as her name gets called to the bottom group again, tanggal na siya agad. "Naipakita ko rin naman sa kanila na may talent ako." Princess cites being included as a nominee in the best actress category by Direk Gina Alajar, reasoning "bakit naman ako mapapunta sa dalawang napili [kung wala akong ipapakita]?" Kaya sa susunod na test, Princess vows, "kung para sa kanila hindi ko ginawa ang 100% [ko], siguro ngayong ibibigay ko na lahat-lahat." A Wake-Up Call for Rox If the second-time at the bottom group is harder for Princess, memorable naman ang first time ni Rox sa bottom group—"kasi nag-invite talaga ako ng maraming tao." Rox tells us that she got her relatives, her parents, and her friends to come para suportahan siya sa Kiss Flicks. "Sabi ko, kailangan ako ma-vote sa Best Kiss." Pero she was in for a shock nang matawag siya for the bottom group. "Nung tinawag po 'yung name ko, pinilit ko po talagang hindi umiyak." Rox reveals, "ayaw ko pong umiyak kasi 'yung buong pamilya ko baka maiyak din sila." Ngayong na-experience na ni Rox ang pagiging part ng bottom group, she says "para akong binuhusan ng water talaga. Gising na ako." Choosing to see the better side of things, Rox says she will take her inclusion in the bottom group positively—and improve her craft more. "It's time to step up na talaga for me. Sana hindi ko na ulit ma-disappoint [ang supporters ko]. "I will do my best. I will do everything I can para hindi na po ako ulit ma-bottom three." And Rox also has a message for Sef, ang kanyang partner sa Kiss Flicks. "Nakita ko doon sa Kiss Flicks namin, dedicated talaga siya sa work, and mabait naman talaga siyang tao. So it's not the end for him. I'm sure sobrang daming opportunities after this. And the most important part with this is not—the competition, but what you do after to be successful.
