Many applicants have been reduced to tears when they faced
Pinoy Idol’s terror judge – Wyngard Tracy.
Many applicants have been reduced to tears in the face of Pinoy Idol’s terror judge Wyngard Tracy. Some were vocally angry after hearing this judge’s comments and his big flat ‘no.’ But to those who were able to get his elusive ‘yes’ they are assured that they really deserved to be in Pinoy Idol. Wyngard is rarely satisfied with an applicant’s performance and has no qualms about saying what’s on his mind. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez, Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio
Wyngard Tracy is a famous talent manager who graced the limelight when he joined
Celebrity Duets last year. He has established a reputation in the industry for recognizing talent and nurturing it when he sees it. Thus, when the network tapped him to be one of the jurors in
Pinoy Idol, people did not think twice about his qualifications and were actually excited to see what this personality can contribute to the show.
Simon Cowell of the Philippines
He doesn’t mind being tagged as the ‘Simon Cowell of the Philippines’ but has this argument when people call him this name.

“Mas original ako kay Simon because I am older (laughs) no, its true pero ganito na ako noong ipinanganak ako. Nanay ko nagco-complain, mga kapatid ko, the whole clan. Bakit siya ganyan?”
And indeed a lot of people are already asking why Wyngard Tracy appears ruthless when he is judging the contestants.
“They will find me nasty but for me I am just being honest,” was the only reply that Wyngard could give them.
On being a terror juror
“Alam mo nakakaantok ka kumanta.”
“Ang boses mo parang yerong ginugupit, masakit sa tenga at saka ang arte arte mong kumanta.”
“Parang may panyong nakabara sa bibig mo.”
“Pinatulog mo lang ako!”

“Nakakakanta ka pero I don’t like your voice hindi maganda, para kang ngongo.”
“Katunog mo 'yung nagtitinda ng balut sa amin.”
These are just a few of Wyngard’s comments during the auditions of
Pinoy Idol. Though these words may seem harsh and callous, these comments are justified when you actually see the audition clips.
Indeed, not all people are cut out to be in
Pinoy Idol. But some need to hear these words from Wyngard to actually realize the truth. And it is this juror’s job to let them know the painful reality of their talent, or lack thereof.
“Advice ko lang they better have the talent or else talagang walang mangyayari kasi dito either you have it or you don’t 'di ba? Hindi naman ito comedy show,” was the terror juror’s last words to the Idol hopefuls.
