Every election is critical. However, the upcoming polls carry significant weight as the country looks to recover from the crippling effects of the pandemic.

In line with this, the Commission of Elections (Comelec) encourages the public to register so that they can participate and make their votes count in the May 9, 2022 election.

Voter registration has been extended until October 30 to accommodate those who missed the September 30 deadline upon the urgings of lawmakers and the public.

There are currently 63 million voters prior to the extension of registration according to the Comelec.

To entice potential voters, the Comelec came up with cute social media filters through Magparehistro Ka, the fun and interactive website designed with animated versions of beloved Filipino heroes.

The #MagpaRehistroKa Pila filter is accessible on Facebook and Instagram by searching “Magparehistro Ka” on their filter libraries.

Through the filter, users can document their voter's registration journey with cool animated images of Philippine heroes Jose Rizal, Apolinario Mabini, Andres Bonifacio, Aurora Quezon, and Melchora Aquino, as photobombers.
