Pia Wurtzbach finally took home her crown!

We just finished our last rehearsal day before the big night. I can't believe it. I started training November 2012 and now it's December 2015. It took so long for me to earn this sash with 3 attempts in Miss Philippines. It was quite a journey and tomorrow it all ends on this one big night. Thank you to everyone's who's trained me, took care of me & helped me. I'd also like to say thank you to those who challenged me. Deciding to join Binibining Pilipinas was the best decision I've ever made. And wow, what an honor it is to represent our country in the most prestigious pageant ever. This may very well be the highlight of my life. Absolutely no regrets. Finally guys, and of course most importantly, I hope I inspired you. Never give up on your dreams and believe that dreams do come true! Walang susuko! Pia Wurtzbach finally took home the much-coveted Miss Universe crown. But her journey towards achieving that childhood dream is one for the books.

It is public knowledge that Pia joined Binibining Pilipinas twice before finally clinching the title.

She placed 1st runner-up, while the Ariella Arida won the pageant and went on to become Miss Universe 2013 3rd runner up.

The beauty queen made it to the contest’s Top 15.

 

Absolutely no regrets:) I gave it my 100%. I had more fun, more laughs, made more friends & learned more lessons this year. I prayed hard but God has other plans. And although I miss my work badly (I really do), I don't feel so bad because of the massive amount of love I'm feeling from everyone! All your messages on twitter & instagram, they're all so comforting & encouraging. Really, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I'd probably still be crying if it wasn't for you guys. From here on it's all smiles & excitement for the future. Thank you guys ? I really feel like the most loved binibini. ?

In 2015, Pia finally won the Miss Universe Philippines title.

 

Last night my biggest dream came true. It was a long journey finally getting a crown in Bb. Pilipinas but all worth it. I've definitely grown in confidence, experience & faith. Thank you to everyone who's helped me finally win the crown I've been aiming for in Bb Pilipinas for 2 years. Your unwavering support & prayers were essential to my victory. I promise to make the most out of this opportunity & make you all proud. I urge everyone, if you have a dream, go for it. Don't give up. Keep trying because you never know. Also, the thing with dreams is when one comes true, you aim for another dream, right? It will be a challenge and I guess by now you've gathered that I don't give up easily & I love a good challenge. During the contest in Las Vegas, Miss Colombia was announced to have won the pageant. Host Steve Harvey immediately apologized for his mistake during the announcement of winners.

In the end, Pia Wurtzbach was crowned Miss Universe 2015.

She is the third Filipina to have won the prestigious title. Gloria Diaz was the first Pinay Miss Universe back in 1969, while Margarita Moran also won the crown in 1973.
