Bela Padilla new quaint boho apartment

Cyndi Fernandez-Beltran and Mado Beltran successfully pulled off a quaint boho interior design on Bela Padilla's new 100-sqm apartment in just two and a half days.

For the first time, interior designer couple Cyndi Fernandez-Beltran and Mado Beltran of Moss Design Design House shared the first episode of their home fluffing project on their YouTube channel last Monday, October 5.

Home fluffing is a home design transformation done within a short period of time without major construction. Therefore, they needed to transform and redesign the space of their client, who is none other than actress Bela Padilla, in a span of three days.

"It's very important talaga for me to know Bela not as a celebrity but as a person because I wanted to make sure that whatever we're designing for her is really suitable in her lifestyle," Cyndi fondly shared.

Bela is moving from a 300-sqm condo unit to a 100-sqm flat that is why it's a challenge for the couple to fit everything that the actress needs in her new place in three compact rooms--living room, dining room, and bedroom.

Just as Bela requested, Cyndi and Mado presented a quaint boho kind of interior design for her new flat where rich color green accents were adorned, while keeping the Filipino touch.

To know how Cyndi and Mado pulled this off, continue reading below.

Day 1
On the first day of Cyndi and Mado's home fluffing, they removed the metal bars installed on the flat's ceiling that goes down until the table.

"Lahat nang nakakabit sa wall baklas, everything for preparation for painting," Mado said.

The interior designer couple's team also tested different painting colors, depending on the lighting of the space.

Since Cyndi and Mado did not want to prolong their work, they found a solution to not get the painting of the wall dirty while doing minor alterations.

"One of the best solutions there is to paint another coating and we're using satin finish," Cyndi said.

Satin paint finish is easy to maintain and has a nice luxe sheen in between matte and semi gloss.

Day 2
After clearing the space with unnecessary fixtures, then it's time to assemble furniture and apply wallpaper.

Cyndi picked two kinds of wallpaper from the Maui Maui collection of Wallquest Wallpaper to give an accent to her client's earth tone home interiors.

She applied a pineapple print wallpaper on Bela's foyer. On the other hand, she used ikat print on the actress' bedroom, which goes well with macrame.

Day 3
In general, installation of art pieces and floating shelves, placing piano and trophies, and decorating the space with elements were the highlights of the third day of the home transformation.

"When I do home fluffing, I always ask my client how much books they have. I really like to use it as a design element--to stack, to elevate, to put into book shelves as fillers," Cyndi revealed.

As someone who has a knack for art, Bela goes along with Cyndi as they both share the same interest.

The design director shared, "Initially, what we presented to Bela is a different kind of wall art gallery. But then, when I went through her place nga, I saw a lot of her paintings and a lot of her books that I can use as artwork. So it tells a very good story about her when you look at her wall.

"We have to scrap everything we originally planned and do a different composition of her wall. She allowed me to tear a sheet in one of her favorite books and that was one of the highlights of her wall."

Cyndi then added, "In fact, she told me just pick anything from that quote that would kind of be like her new mantra in life."

For Cyndi, the last day is the most crucial stage because this is the time when she can be in a make-or-break situation.

She shared, "When you know that it's perfect na, okay na, you know, sometimes I get to overthink it. And I was like, 'is she gonna like this, is she not?'

"I feel na we really created this space that is really reflective of her personality and everything that she said she wanted was given to her."

The reveal
Upon entering the space, the first thing that really caught Bela's eyes was the wallpaper on her foyer.

She said with excitement, "I am not a wallpaper person but when Cyndi showed me this and asked if we should go for it, and I said 'yes, go for it.'

"And look, it's so homey," she said while hugging the wall.

Bela loved how the couple transformed her living room based on her personality.

"I love how the living room is so me. I see my books everywhere, little areas, two pillars of books. I love how simple it is. The fact that nothing is too overbearing covering the books.

"It's plain out there, it feels like the stories are just waiting or you to pick them up."

Bela said nothing but good words about how the home fluffing turned out.

She gets all the happy vibes in there that resonates coziness creating a sense of intimacy, ideal for a bachelorette pad.

"When you enter the room, it's so cozy, it's so boho. It's like the dream houses you see in Hawaii. You feel like you're living by the beach," Bela said.

"The fact they really pulled this off in two and a half days in a middle of a pandemic and it rained like crazy today, that is insane.

"When you finally moved into your new home, you finally settled in, that is the most magic," Bela concluded.
