Clint Bondad

Prawn Stars is perfect for keto dieters like Clint Bondad, who seemed to fall in love with seafood during an episode of 'Pop Talk.'

For the past few years, the ketogenic diet has become popular thanks to its effectivity for weight loss and certain types of illnesses, including cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

This diet limits carbs to 20 to 50 grams per day, which may seem challenging at first, but incorporating it into your diet doesn't seem impossible with the right food.

One of the most keto-friendly foods is seafood, including fish and shellfish, which most dieticians agree is rich in B vitamins, potassium, selenium, and is also carb-free.

One celebrity that is a big fan of the keto diet is actor Clint Bondad.

In an episode of Pop Talk, the German-Filipino actor visited seafood haven Prawn Star with host Tonipet Gaba. They are treated to the nines with their delicious meals from appetizer to dessert.

Opened in 2016, Prawn Star was once a small stall in a food park before transitioning into a full-blown restaurant two years later at the Roof Garden in Ayala Malls Feliz in Pasig City.

It is said that Prawn Star is the pioneer of the seafood boil concept in the Philippines, and they master in Louisiana-inspired Cajun cooking, where customers can pick a variety of sauces to compliment their seafood.

In the episode, Clint and Tonipet were treated to eat their signature dishes from the Crab Chowder, Hot Crab Dip, Catfish Fry, Fried Oysters, and so much more.

But the one that caught the eye of the two guests would have to be Prawn Star's Pride that costs a whopping PhP 1,299, which consists of shrimps, mussels, and clams accompanied by andouille sausage, potatoes, and corn.

“Very, very rich 'yung flavor kasi 'yung mussels and a lot of crustaceans have less flavor so you can really pack a lot of flavoring like what they do here,” says Clint to Tonipet.

Clint also loved the Catfish fry, a beer-battered fillet catfish fried to perfection with a side of Cajun fries.
