What happened when aespa members returned from New York to South Korea?

Fans of the SM Entertainment super girl group aespa can now breathe a sigh of relief, after three members tested negative for COVID-19, after returning from their successful performance in the US.

The group composed of Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning were fresh off their performance in the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, where they became the first K-pop girl group ever to perform at the grand annual event.

Soompi reported that Karina, Winter, and Ningning all yielded a negative result, after they needed some tests, since they were exhibiting cold-like symptoms.

As part of the protocol, they needed to stay at the airport, while Giselle was allowed to re-enter South Korea, since she had no symptoms.

Aside from their trip to New York, aespa also marked their first anniversary, after they debuted on November 17, 2020. Some of their hits include “Black Mamba”, “Next Level,” and their latest song “Savage.”

Last week, the K-pop industry was rocked with the news that BLACKPINK's Lisa and PENTAGON member Kino contracted the highly-contagious disease.
