As he prepared to host the GMA New Year's Eve Countdown, Tim Yap had one more heartfelt plan up his sleeve, a special surprise for his longtime assistant, Rose.

On Instagram, Tim shared that instead of having Rose accompany him while he worked, he decided to send her off to fulfill a long-time dream. Rose, a huge fan of Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo, had always wished to watch her idol perform live at Newport World Resorts.

“I knew my assistant Rose had been dreaming of watching her idol Sarah Geronimo @newportworldresorts, so I sent her there instead, with dinner, VIP tickets and all,” Tim wrote. “A simple thank you for her many years of service and unwavering support.”

In a video shared alongside the post, Tim gave fans a glimpse of how the surprise came together as he got ready for the countdown.

“I'm getting ready for the New Year's Eve countdown, but I'm gonna surprise Rose, my assistant of many, many years,” he said.

Tim also shared that he knew Rose felt torn about missing the concert because of work.

“I know that tonight she's been dreaming of watching her idol Sarah Geronimo. I'm sure na medyo she's sad because she has to be with me, because I'm doing the countdown,” he added.

The gesture earned positive reactions online, with many praising Tim for acknowledging the years of dedication and support from his assistant. For Rose, the surprise was more than just a night out, it was a meaningful way to recognize her hard work as the year ended.
