More than honing his hosting and expanding his skill set,
Don’t Lose the Money has done something more meaningful for Tom Rodriguez – it has bridged the gap between him and the public.
“Sobra ko siyang na-enjoy dahil nandun ka [in the middle of the action] eh. It’s not like when you act. Kapag umaarte ka, crew lang nakikita mo. Dito, ramdam mo 'yung pulso ng tao, ramdam mo 'yung pulso ng audience, ramdam mo 'yung pulso ng masa,” he told GMANetwork.com.
This first hosting stint has allowed him to grow in so many aspects, both as a professional and an individual.
“It’s such a beautiful thing [to interact with people in that way]. I’ve learned so much from it, I’ve benefitted so much from it not just as an actor and as an artist, but as a person [altogether],” he added.
Even with the nearing conclusion of the show, he still can’t believe that he now belongs to the roster of hosts of the Kapuso network and the industry.
“’Di pa rin nag-si-sink in eh… Ewan ko kung matatawag ko 'yung sarili ko na host,” he admitted, laughing.
In a span of three months, he has made memories that would last a lifetime. Tom wouldn’t forget the long taping days that are made fun by the crew and the audience members.
“[Ang] taping namin ay four to five episodes a day [and I was scared at first kasi] paano ko gagawin na kunyare 10:45 [in the morning but we tape it] late na, madaling araw na? Pero actually, hindi pala problema dahil masaya 'yung tao, 'yung kasama mo, 'yung audience [so] hindi mo na mararamdaman ['yung pagod] eh,” he shared.
