If there’s one thing Kapuso leading man Tom Rodriguez shares with his character Lucas Matthew Andrada in My Destiny, it’s being a hopeless romantic.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Tom revealed that he feels whimsical about love and is a firm believer of destiny.
“Talagang hopeless romantic din ako tulad ni Matthew eh. Pati kaming lahat, nabuhay ‘yung aming pagka-hopeless romantic,” he said referring to his character and his co-stars.
Tom defined being a hopeless romantic: “Sa lahat ng bagay naman na even when we experience pain, we experience hurt, we experience loss especially in love and relationships, a hopeless romantic doesn’t stop hoping, doesn’t stop yearning to find that perfect person for him or her, 'yung taong co-complement sa’yo.”
It might sound cliché but he believes there is no perfect person, "Pero puwede kang makahanap ng taong perpekto para sa’yo, ‘yung sobrang sakto.”
“‘Yung talagang nagco-complement ‘yung pagkukulang niyo sa isa’t-isa. ‘Yung pagkukulang niyo as a person nagco-complement [dun] sa mga pagsosobra niyo naman as a person. Parang it just matches, kung puzzle pieces kumbaga click kayo,” he continued.
“A hopeless romantic, hindi nawawala sa isip nila ‘yun eh, ‘yung hope na one day mahahanap nila ‘yung talagang kabiyak [nila]," he concluded.
