After being away from the gym for two months, Tom Rodriguez returns.

'Marimar' leading man Tom Rodriguez is really working hard to maintain his body for his role as Sergio Santibañez, and he has no plans of stopping anytime soon.
"Tinotodo ko talaga eh, I am doing the best I can. I don't count [the packs] eh. Mas binabase ko siya aesthetically, just looking at it. Kasi if I based it on numbers, very misleading," he shares.
The hunk actor, who turns a year older today, October 1, says he is doing his best to achieve the body required for the role. In an Instagram photo posted yesterday, September 30, Tom was praised by his fitness trainer for not losing focus even if he was absent from the gym for two months.
He adds, "Ang daming factors na kapag isipin ko, mas hindi nakakatulong lalo. Mas mase-stress ka lang. So I based it on the looks, since it's a very visual medium naman. I'm really doing my best. Sabi ko nga kina Direk Dom, kung hindi man ma-achieve sa start, hindi ako bibitaw until the end."
When asked if he is ready for his numerous shirtless scenes, Tom admits that he is prepared for the worst.
"I'm already expecting, just like in other material or role I may do, I'm preparing for the worst, the inevitable. So I'm really doing my best na kung 'yun man 'yung kailangan, I have to deliver, I have to do it. I have to expect na it will be that way."
This was also his mindset when he did 'My Husband's Lover' with Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana.
"The same thing with MHL, I have to prepare myself na there will be really intimate scenes, that we have to kiss each other, ganun. I've prepared myself for that para if it's asked of me, I will do it. Kaysa naman the opposite na i-expect mo na hindi ipagawa."
