
Yesterday, the Philippine entertainment industry mourned the death of “Ora, Plata, Mata” director Peque Gallaga due to complications arising from his health conditions. He was 76 years old.
And together with other Pinoy celebrities, Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez mourned the death of the late director to whom he had the pleasure of working with on the movie T'yanak back in 2014.
On the eve of May 8th, Tom penned his touching tribute to Peque accompanied by a photo of them together.
He wrote, “Today is a truly sad day. We lost not just a mere legend but a beacon of this industry who relished in seeing others around him shine brightly.
"A man who never shied away from chasing the highs and lows of creativity whilst enjoying the pursuit of it all. A true visionary and innovator along with his lifelong collaborators (@jomacasa @lorereyes1).
“My heart goes out to his topnotch and loyal teammates and his family. We mourn with you.
“We love you Direk Peque! How I wish I could watch you work again.”
In the comments, fans and fellow celebrities shared their grief with Tom as they move on with their life without the presence of the acclaimed director.
Veteran filmmaker Peque Gallaga passed away yesterday, May 7, at the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City.
He is known for directing Scorpion Nights, Magic Temple, and several Shake, Rattle, and Roll films.
He is survived by his spouse Madie Gallaga and son Wanggo Gallaga.
