Many of us dream of traveling to faraway places with breathtaking views, exploring historic landmarks, and soaking up the culture. But out of all the hundreds of countries and countless islands in the world, have you always wondered which ones are truly worth including in your travel goals?

If you want to know which places have been given good ratings by travelers, you're in luck, because the international travel platform Tripadvisor had recently revealed its winners of the 2020 Traveler's Choice Awards for Trending Destinations. And, the Philippines made it to the list - not once, but twice!

Cebu is the 24th Traveler's Choice Top Trending Destination

Cebu took the 24th spot on the list. This comes as no surprise as the island boasts of beautiful white sand beaches in Moalboal, Malapascua, and Bantayan, to name a few. They also have historical tourist attractions such as the Magellan's Cross and Fort San Pedro. Many tourists are also drawn to the majestic whale sharks of Oslob. And, its capital, Cebu City, also has malls that are at par in size, architectural design, and attractions with the ones in Manila.

Luzon is the 2nd Traveler's Choice Top Trending Destination

Speaking of Manila, the island of Luzon also made it to the list of winners of the 2020 Traveler's Choice Awards for Trending Destinations. It's the second place in the world that garnered top reviews and ratings last year on Tripadvisor's site.

There are plenty of reasons why tourists love Luzon. It's home to many of the country's unique and world-famous tourist attractions such as the Mayon Volcano, known for its perfect cone shape; the Banaue Rice Terraces, dubbed as the Eighth Wonder of the World; Calle Crisologo in Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Hundred Islands National Park in Pangasinan, a must-visit for an exciting island-hopping experience, and the Taal Volcano, the second most active volcano in the Philippines with spectacular views.

Also, the capital city of Manila is located in Luzon, and many tourists flock here to see some of Asia's biggest malls and historic sites such as Intramuros and Rizal Park.

With the many options for places to explore and things to try, traveling is indeed more fun in the Philippines.
