It's actually a yes and a no--here's why.

Aside from great storylines and eye candy stars, K-dramas are known for their stunning backdrops highlighting South Korea's wonderful sceneries.

Her Private Life is no exception.

The captivating series starring Park Min-young and Kim Jae-wook features pleasing settings that complement its lighthearted narrative.

One place that is constant for most of the episodes is the Chaeum Museum of Art.

The venue plays a significant role in the story as this is where Abby (Park Min-young) works as a curator and Ryan Gold (Kim Jae-wook) as director. This is where they met, spent most of their time together as colleagues, and where many of their interactions take place.

But is the Chaeum Museum of Art real?

The truth is that the Chaeum Museum of Art is just a fictional name, meaning there's no such art hub that exists in South Korea.

However, the venue itself, as seen in the series, is indeed a real museum that goes by the name of SOMA Museum of Art.

So in a nutshell, the Chaeum Museum of Art we see in the show is, in reality, the SOMA Museum of Art.

Located inside the Olympic Park in Seoul, SOMA Museum of Art (formerly Seoul Olympic Art Museum) opened in 2004 and has two main buildings referred to as Museum 1 and Museum 2.

It also has a large outdoor sculpture park perfect for picture taking and unwinding.

Visiting Her Private Life fans certainly would recognize the hallway next to the large window, the passageway made of concrete, and just the overall interior of the museum.

Reviews of the museum are mostly positive, with many raving about the venue's design and eclectic mix of exhibits highlighting local and foreign artists.

So if in the future and you find yourself in South Korea, you might want to visit the museum and retrace the steps of Abby and Ryan Gold.
