TVXQ's Changmin is back with a new mini album!
On January 13, the K-pop idol made his solo comeback with "Devil," the lead single from his second mini album of the same name.
The four-minute video shows Changmin performing the song in the middle of an empty forest, alongside masked dancers all dressed in black. Later, the idol explores a fog-filled land dressed in an all-white outfit.
According to Changmin, while working on the mini album, he decided to use the "devil" motif to represent the fear felt by people during the pandemic. "I thought that the devil I express could instead be the devil that exists inside us."
He added, "The 'devil' here doesn't mean 'evil,' but more so the discomfort caused by the pandemic and the stress coming from the current situation, as well as the fear towards something."
Immediately after its release, the album topped the iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 14 different regions, including Japan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Singapore, Turkey, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Colombia, Vietnam, Lithuania, Taiwan, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
Changmin made his solo debut in April 2020 with his first mini album 'Chocolate.' In November 2021, the K-pop idol released his single "All That Love" with SM STATION.
