TWICE marks another career milestone after releasing their newest music video for their English pre-release single “I Got You.”
The music video premiered on JYP Entertainment's official YouTube channel at 2:00 p.m. KST and immediately received positive responses from fans.
A rainstorm in the sea was the first frame of the music video before it panned toward Mina looking at it from inside a yacht. She then joined her members talking and bonding in a warm and cozy room of the yacht, contrary to the chaos on the outside.
The members also danced and played with a red string throughout the music video.
The red string made another appearance in the animated part of the MV which showed girls swimming through the stormy seas but still found each other through the red string of fate.
It is a legend that explains two people are connected in life by a red string attached to their pinky fingers. Through that, they will find each other despite the chaos and challenges.
This reflected Jihyo's comment about the music video during her online birthday party, “It's our story and our story of friendship.”
ONCEs reacted quickly to the music video and shared that it made them emotional. They also commend the production, animation, and storyline that delivered the story TWICE wanted to send to fans.
Alongside the release of the music video, TWICE also uploaded a cheering guide for “I Got You” that ONCEs could follow during their performances.
TWICE is a nine-member group from JYP Entertainment on their fifth world tour “Ready To Be.”
One attendee hinted that TWICE will perform “I Got You” on their Mexico show on February 2 and 3 at Foro Sol stadium after hearing a live band playing the song during soundcheck.
