It's the last month of the year, which means one thing: awards season is finally upon us.
And for K-pop fans all over the world, nothing is more highly-anticipated than the Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA) that's happening this Sunday, December 6.
On Thursday, December 3, Twitter announced that it would be partnering with MAMA 2020 to bring fans closer to their idols with “Stanbot,” a robot-operated camera that captures the looks and moments of K-pop artists from the award show.
In a press release, it was revealed that Stanbot would capture slow-motion videos, showing a side of your favorite idol that many of their fans have never seen before.
These “Stanbot” will only be available on Twitter via @MnetMAMA. The social media platform will also provide a unique hashtag for the event, including #2020MAMA, #MAMAVOTE, and #2020MAMA_Stanbot.
This year's award show will feature a star-studded line-up with the likes of BTS, Taemin, GOT7, MONSTA X, BoA, NCT, and so much more.
The announcement of “Stanbot” follows the recent launch of Worldwide Fans' Choice, a new award category decided by fans. Fans can vote via Twitter for their favorites by merely using #MAMAVOTE and their artists' official hashtag.
