TWICE's maknae (youngest), Tzuyu, unleashed a different side of her as she officially marked her solo debut last week.
After months of anticipation, Tzuyu finally dropped her debut album, abouTZU, last Friday, September 6, with the title track “Run Away.”
She surprised ONCEs and the whole K-pop world with “Run Away” M/V because, contrary to TWICE's colorful and vibrant works, it was dark, bold, and daring in many different ways.
Of course, Tzuyu showcased a memorable vocal prowess that gave life to Park Jin-Young's “Run Away” lyrics in a disco-pop beat that mirrored a mysterious yet funky vibe.
The Taiwanese soloist also exhibited her dancing skills in the music video and was joined by more than 40 dancers making the “Run Away” routine look even better.
To top it all off, Tzuyu showed a fraction of her underlying talent in acting and delivered a compelling storyline with a mysterious M/V co-star that centers on a “dream” setting.
It is currently on YouTube's Trending Music.
Meanwhile, the rest of Tzuyu's debut album was a masterpiece as well because of the diversity of its sound and two collaborations with fellow K-pop artists.
Aside from “Run Away,” Tzuyu's debut album, abouTZU includes “Heartreak in Heaven” featuring PENIEL of BTOB, “Lazy Baby” featuring pH-1, “Losing Sleep,” “One Love,” and “Fly.”
Tzuyu is officially the third member of TWICE to make a solo debut, following Nayeon who released her debut song “POP!” in 2022, and Jihyo with “Killin' Me Good” in 2023.
