UAAP Board officially canceled UAAP Season 82.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines board canceled the remainder of UAAP Season 82, on Tuesday, April 7.

In a memo signed by UAAP President Emmanuel Fernandez and executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag, the cancellation came after the extension of enhanced community quarantine until April 30 that was brought about by the rapid increase of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19), cases in the country.

“The enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) having been extended, the conditions for the resumption of UAAP Season 82 can no longer be met. As such, it is now deemed cancelled,” the UAAP's post reads.

“All other issued related thereto will be resolved at the proper time as we continue to focus our time, energy and resources in battling this crisis,” it added.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday formalized the extension of the enhanced community quarantine as the deadly virus continues to spread in the country.
