Longest-running morning show Unang Hirit has recently announced its shorter running time starting today, March 19.
The decision was made due to the enhanced community quarantine imposed by the national government to help combat the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19.
In it's official Instagram page, the show announced that it will run at 7:00 a.m. right after DZBB Super Radyo airs.
Aside from Unang Hirit, GMA's news channel, GMA News TV, has announced that it is temporarily going off air amid the quarantine.
As posted on GMA Network's official Facebook page, “Due to the state of calamity, GMA News TV is temporarily signing off. Please stay tuned to GMA for all news updates.
“Hindi po muna sasahimpapawid ang GMA News TV sa kasalukuyang state of calamity sa bansa. Stay safe, mga Kapuso!”
Similarly, GMA has already suspended all its live shows and the production of some entertainment programs.
The entire island of Luzon was placed under an enhanced community quarantine by President Rodrigo Duterte which is in effect until April 13, 2020.
