Aside from her Primetime comeback via the series 'Rhodora X', Jennylyn Mercado will release an album next year. And she admits, though indirectly, that nothing brings out a singer's sentimentality better than a heartache.




Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado has a lot to look forward to in 2014.

She will be teaming up anew with her fellow StarStruck batch 1 winner, Mark Herras, via the GMA Telebabad series, Rhodora X.

Besides that, Jennylyn is coming up with something worth watching out for.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Jennylyn revealed that she will be releasing an album in 2014.

What could be expected of her new album?

She replied, “Nag-start na akong mag-record ng kanta, tapos ‘yung best friend ko rin, gumawa for me. ‘Yung best friend ko nasa [songwriting] camp [under] kina Ryan Cayabyab and Ogie Alcasid. Pagkalabas niya ng songwriting camp, ginawaan niya agad ako ng song at pinasa namin agad sa GMA records.”

The album that Jennylyn will be releasing is more personal than her previous ones. Besides it being her outlet in expressing her emotions, the album is  a collaborative effort with her friends and loved ones.

According to her, “’Yung album na ito, very special album kasi ‘yung mga taong malalapit sa akin, gumawa rin ng songs. Best friend ko, nakagawa na ng dalawa. Ako mayroon nang isa. Si Sir Vehnee [Saturno] na always, lagi ‘pag GMA records, siya ‘yung [gumagawa ng] single ko talaga.”

What is the concept and overall feel of her new album?

“We have this concept na heartbreak at tinulungan ako ni Ms. Lilybeth na mag-isip ng concept tungkol sa album na ito, so I think ‘yun ‘yung perfect concept for that album kasi galing din ako sa heartache,” she stated.

She continued, “You know naman Filipinos, di ba? Mahilig ‘yan sa mga ganyan- ‘yung mga malulungkot, very sentimental di ba? It’s very emotional. I think ‘yun ‘yung perfect nga for this album.”
