This year, gusto ni Lovi Poe na mag-refocus sa work. Kaya naman sunud-sunod niyang na-tackle ang isang indie movie, her second album, and a new prime time soap.
This year, one of Lovi Poe’s resolutions is to refocus on her work. “Wala lang, siguro parang there was a time that I lost the passion [for it],” paliwanag niya. Lovi reasons out that perhaps she “lost the passion” because she was balancing school with showbiz: “I’m studying at the same time, [kaya] siguro I missed a lot of fun [with] friends. So ngayon, [ang] status ko, ready to get back!”
Of course, hindi mapagkakailang isa pang rason kung bakit medyo naapektuhan si Lovi ay ang mga intriga tungkol sa relasyon niya with Jolo Revilla. “I think that’s one of the reasons why parang, for a while nawalan [ako] ng gana, but then I realized that’s just part of it and I cannot do anything about it naman,” pahayag ng aktres. As for the status of her relationship with Jolo, Lovi prefers to keep details of her personal life private, which is understandable. But even though it’s hard to balance her showbiz engagements with school, Lovi is not the type to give up her academics. She is still pushing through with her second year in college under a business management course. “Actually, I really wanna be a businesswoman at the same time [that I’m acting],” she says. “[I want a business involving] food [or] clothes [in the future].” Her newest projects Lovi shares that she also has an indie film coming up, titled Walang Hanggang Paalam. “I’m with Jackie Lou [Blanco], it’s very nice. It’s a different kind of field to me kasi very natural 'yung dating, we didn’t have a script at all!”
Dagdag niya, “It was very natural, as in. Kung baga kami talaga [ang nag adlib]. I don’t know when it’s gonna be released but I’m excited to see [it].” Lovi also released a second album, entitled Bloom, and she says that her music is more mature if you compare it to her debut album. Age and experience most probably have something to do with it too, since Lovi’s turning 20 on February 11 this year. “[It’s the kind of music where you just want to] relax, chill lang, parang road-trip kind of [music].” When asked about her birthday plans, she grins and replies, “None yet, eh. Siguro I’m a crammer kasi pagdating sa mga plans!” In the upcoming soap Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang, Lovi plays a choir girl who becomes the object of affection of Prince Stefan, whose character wants to pursue priesthood. It was still too early into the production process when iGMA got to talk to Lovi and Prince about their characters, but the two were excited about their team-up and they seemed to hit it off well even beyond the camera.
