The year 2025 is off to a good start with the engagement of two of today's biggest Hollywood stars: Spiderman co-stars Zendaya and Tom Holland.

On Monday, January 6, several U.S. news outlets reported that the two have decided to take their relationship to the next level. This includes TMZ, which was the first to release a statement, and PEOPLE magazine, which received a confirmation from a “family source.”

These came after Zendaya's appearance at the “82nd Golden Globes Award” where she wore a diamond ring on her left-hand ring finger.

TMZ reported that Tom proposed to Zendaya between Christmas and New Year in an “intimate setting in one of Zendaya's family homes in the United States.” The outlet also noted that, according to their sources, “the family wasn't there… it was just a sweet moment between Tom and Zendaya.”

Meanwhile, according to PEOPLE, Tom was planning to propose to the actress “for a while.”

“Everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening,” PEOPLE quoted its source.

They added, "He's always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special."

There are no news about the wedding date yet, as Zendaya and Tom are “both busy with work projects.”

“They will just enjoy things for now and won't rush a wedding," PEOPLE's source said. "They are both busy with work projects.”

Zendaya and Tom are yet to confirm the news.

The two officially revealed their relationship to the public in 2021 when Tom posted a photo on Zendaya's birthday with the caption “my MJ,” ending relationship rumors that started in 2017 during their Spiderman stint.
