The Department of Health (DOH) considers the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Test as the “gold standard” in terms of finding out if the person is infected with the dreaded virus.

Bubble Gang comedienne Valeen Montenegro took to social media to warn her followers about bogus COVID-19 test clinics.

In the Philippines, people either take a Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Test or the Rapid Antibody-based Test to find out if one is infected with COVID-19.

But for the Department of Health (DOH), the RT-PCR test is considered as the gold standard, since it's the most accurate one in determining if one has the virus even before the symptoms occur.

In her Instagram Story, Valeen shared that there are some clinics that offer a “negative” result, even if the person doesn't personally appear in the clinic for the test.

She shared, “Dear friends! Please make sure you go to legit RT-PCR/Antigen clinics.

“There are so many now that just do it for the sake of money.

“They offer “negative” results & no appearance is required!!!! PAAAANO?!”
