GMA Afternoon Prime series 'Raising Mamay,' where Valerie Concepcion plays Sylvia Renacia, will air its final episode on Friday, July 29.
Valerie Concepcion took to Facebook to express her gratitude as her current show Raising Mamay is set to bid goodbye after 14 weeks.
The GMA afternoon drama, where she plays Sylvia Renacia, will air its final episode on Friday, July 29. It follows Abigail (Shayne Sava), a teenager who takes care of her scornful mother, Letty (Aiai Delas Alas), who was stricken with brain regression after being shot. Abigail discovered her true identity after learning about her mother's shooter--Sylvia.
In her post, Valerie looked back at the time when they were still taping the series by posting some of her photos on the set.
According to her, playing Sylvia Renacia is one of her favorite roles of all time. The 34-year-old actress started acting at the age of 15.
She also thanked GMA, her original home network, for the opportunities she has given her in the past years.
Valerie said, "Since it is our finale week (Yes, last week na ng #RaisingMamay. 😢), I want to post this long message to express my gratitude and appreciation sa GMA Network at sa lahat ng bumubuo ng show so please bear with me and my sentimental post. ❤️
"A lot of people are telling me na napakaganda daw ng role ko dito and I super agree. 💯 Personally, this is one of my favorite roles of all time. 😍 It's a splendid way to mark my 20th year milestone in the business (More than half my life! 😱).
"I couldn't thank GMA Network enough for the trust that they've given me. THANK YOU for believing in me. It was a great privilege to play Sylvia Renacia."
Valerie also thanked the team behind Raising Mamay, directed by Don Michael Perez.
She went on, "I would also like to thank our GMA bosses, our Directors, Direk Don Michael Perez and Direk Linnet Zurbano, our producers and my co-actors because I wouldn't have pulled this off without your help and support.
"Sa lahat ng bumubuo ng RAISING MAMAY, to all the production staff, crew and cast members, taos pusong pasasalamat po sa inyo. 💞 CONGRATULATIONS for a job well done! 👏🏼 I am so proud of this project!!! 🙌🏼 One of the BEST tv shows that I did! 👌🏼 Looking forward to working with you guys again! 💖"
Valerie then said, "Sana may season 2 tayo! GMA Network, beke nemennnnn. 🤪"
Lastly, she expressed her thanks to the people who had been supportive of the soap opera.
