Multi-awarded actor, host, and content creator Vice Ganda gave her two cents about the expensive prices of movie tickets in the recently concluded Metro Manila Film Festival 2025.

Vice, who bagged the Best Actor trophy in the 51st installment of the film fest shared her thoughts about this hot topic, when she attended the 27th edition of Inkblots, the annual national campus journalism fellowship organized by the Varsitarian, the official student publication of the University of Santo Tomas.

Seasoned entertainment columnist and former UST journalism coordinator Nestor Cuartero brought in the It's Showtime host for his mock press conference in Inkblots. Vice then expressed her views about the pricey tickets in the MMFFF.

“Actually, hindi yung presyo ng ticket ang dapat tanungin natin. Ang tanungin natin kung bakit mababa ang kakayahan ng Pilipino na bumili at gumasta,” Vice noted.

She then explained, “Kasi, kahit isang libo pa ang presyo ng isang ticket pang isang tao, kung may higit na kakayahan ang mga Pilipino na gumasta o may higit silang kakayahan sa pananalapi, hindi magiging kuwestiyon diyan.”

The Kapamilya host feels that the income generated by Filipinos is only enough to cover their basic needs.

“Ang malaking halaga ng ticket ay hindi sanhi, kundi epekto ito ng kawalan ng kakayahan ng mga Pilipino upang gumasta dahil ang kanilang kinikita ay swerte na lamang kung ito ay sasapat sa pangangailangan.

“Mababa ang halaga ng piso at mababa rin ang suweldo ng mga tao at maraming tao ang walang hanap buhay, walang pinagkakakitaan. Kaya nagiging mahirap para sa Pilipino ang gumasta.”
