Can you feel the Christmas vibes, Madlang Kapuso?
Christmas is definitely in the air as BER months officially kicked in today, September 1; like most Filipinos, It's Showtime host Vice Ganda is also celebrating the well-loved holidays.
This Sunday, September 1, Vice Ganda greeted Madlang People with her take on the iconic Christmas song by international pop star Mariah Carey, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
She reposted her cover of the song from 2020 and wrote, “SEPTEMBER NA! CHRISTMAS NA! Merry Christmas, Madlang People!!!”
Instead of going with the original, festive vibes of the song, Vice Ganda showed her twist to “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and sang a melancholic version of the Mariah Carey classic that slowly transitioned to rock vibes toward the middle of the song.
It mirrored the situation of the Philippines when she first posted her cover in December 2020 when the world was battling through a global pandemic.
“Marami man tayong hinaharap na pagsubok ngayong [2020], 'wag tayong bibitiw sa pag-asa at manatiling positibo sa buhay. Tuloy na tuloy pa rin ang birthday ni Jesus!” Vice Ganda wrote on Facebook, “Keep on spreading LOVE sa isa't isa para mas maging merry ang ating kapaskuhan!”
Regardless of the year of posting, the reaction of Madlang Netizens remained the same as they were amazed by Vice Ganda's vocal skills.
