Seasoned comedian Vice Ganda is the host of the highly-anticipated Philippine version of the international hit comedy series 'LOL: Last One Laughing.'
Vice Ganda is not only known as one of the top comedians in the country, but also for being a seasoned host.
In June, the Asia's Unkabogable Phenomenal Box Office Superstar was announced as the host of the highly-anticipated Amazon Original series LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines.
A press conference for the said series was held last Friday (June 28) at Okada Manila, where the host, cast, showrunners, members of the press, and influencers were in attendance.
During the event, Vice Ganda revealed that she was surprised, happy, and honored when she was chosen to be the host of the show.
“I was so so surprised and kinilig ako. Sobra akong happy na ako 'yung napiling host. Sobra akong na-proud at I was so honored to be given the chance to host this program na ang mga contestant ay ilan sa mga pinakamahuhusay sa comedy sa Pilipinas. Nakaka-proud,” she said.
The seasoned host-comedienne added, “It's an honor to be part of the first season of LOL [PH] kasi hindi ko naman alam kung may second [season] pa o kung sino 'yung ano. Pero at least, sa first season isa ako sa mga napili na mapasama sa programang ito.”
Vice Ganda also shared about her hosting style for LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines, saying that she had to provide a “different level of suspense and excitement.”
She said, “It was extra challenging for me, but I enjoyed it a lot kasi iba siya. Kailangan kong mag-provide ng certain nerbyos doon sa mga contestants. Eh sa noontime show at saka sa Everybody, Sing! hindi ko pinapanerbyos naman 'yung ano and the whole time enjoy, fun, fun lang, and, as much as possible, light lang dapat. Pero dito, mas suspenseful, mas maganda.”
The cast of LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines consists of 10 of the Philippines' most celebrated comedians, namely, Victor Anastacio, Jayson Gainza, Pepe Herrera, Chad Kinis, Empoy Marquez, Kim Molina, Jerald Napoles, Negi, Tuesday Vargas, and Rufa Mae Quinto.
Hosted by Vice Ganda, LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines will begin streaming on Prime Video on Thursday, July 4.
