
Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte announced he is subjecting himself to a 14-day self-quarantine in accordance with the prevention of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
He explained how he experiences flu-like symptoms recently after a trip to Manila around four weeks ago.
“I am subjecting myself to a 14-day self-quarantine immediately after experiencing flu-like symptoms in the past days and considering my travel to Metro Manila four weeks ago.”
He also shared the improvement in his condition, “As of today [March 17], I am feeling a lot better. I am currently isolated at my residence while I wait for the clearance from my doctor that I may be able to go out again.”

At the end of his message, Vice Mayor Baste wrote a message to public about government's effort to combat COVID-19.
He said, “I would like to remind everyone to always follow the guidelines from the local government in view of the ongoing COVID-19 concerns. Let us take this matter seriously and help one another in overcoming this health crisis. Daghang salamat!”
Vice Mayor Baste Duterte's father, President Rodrigo Duterte, recently put the whole Luzon under enhanced community quarantine from March 15 to April 14, 2020 as an effort of prevention of the coronavirus (COVID-19) from spreading.
