Ravi Zacharias with Vicki Belo and Scarlet Snow

In one of her previous interviews, Vicki Belo shared how Ravi Zacharias helped guide her relationship with her husband Hayden Kho.

On May 19, 2020, evangelist Ravi Zacharias died at the age of 74 at his home in Atlanta.

The leading figure among Christian Apologist, a branch of Christian theology that defends Christian doctrines against objections, had been battling sarcoma, a type of cancer that can occur in various locations in the body.

On Instagram, Filipino celebrities and personalities like Vicki Belo, Hayden Kho, and Gary Valenciano expressed their grief over the death of Ravi in their respective social media accounts.

Vicki described Ravi as the man who helped shape her and husband Hayden Kho to becoming great parents for their daughter Scarlet.

She wrote, “I hope you know how much I love you and how grateful I am to you for having mentored @dochayden so patiently to become the wonderful man that he is today.

"I have become a much better person because you showed me by example what it's like to love, to be humble, and to serve people as Jesus Christ did.”

In a feature in Tatler Hong Kong, it was revealed that Ravi helped the two overcome their differences in their relationship through a lengthy counseling process.

Vicki added, “I am still so far from where I want to be but I have also improved so much from where I was because of you.

“I'm sure you are happy and 'pain-free' now and that Jesus has welcomed you to heaven with the words, 'Well done my good and faithful servant.'”

Godspeed, @ravizacharias . I hope you know how much I love you and how grateful I am to you for having mentored @dochayden so patiently to become the wonderful man that he is today. I have become a much better person because you showed me by example what it's like to love, to be humble and to serve people as Jesus Christ did. I am still so far from where I want to be but I have also improved so much from where I was because of you. Even in your deathbed while you were undergoing so much pain you never wavered in your love for our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm sure you are happy and “pain free” now and that Jesus has welcomed you to heaven with the words “well done my good and faithful servant “. #ThankYouRavi

For his part, Hayden Kho posted a video showing the preacher speaking in one of their intimate events, “You have to find the truth and walk on that path, and yours alone. Have long obedience in the same direction.”

Hayden captioned the video with this: “This piece of advice he gave me during the first of the seven years I knew him will forever echo in my heart.

“Vicky was God's gift to me on my 25th birthday.

On my 33rd, God sent you. And today as I turn 40, although I grieve, I celebrate because you will get to finally meet our Lord Jesus face to face, and that you will receive your crown of glory.”

Ravi is a man of wisdom, eloquence, sincerity, and most importantly, integrity. I wanted to be like Jesus by becoming like Ravi. This piece of advice he gave me during the first of the seven years I knew him will forever echo in my heart. Vicki was God's gift to me on my 25th birthday. On my 33rd, God sent you. And today as I turn 40, although I grieve I celebrate because you will get to finally meet our Lord Jesus face to face, and that you will receive your crown of glory. It's a bittersweet birthday for me. #ThankYouRavi

Singer Gary Valenciano also paid tribute to the man he described as someone who “practiced what they preached” by posting a photo of him in his timeline.

He then proceeded by writing, “I can only imagine the embrace he will be getting from Jesus whom he loved so very much. Thank you for touching all our lives, Dr. Ravi.”

There are a few men I have come to meet in my lifetime that truly have walked their talk and have practiced what they've preached. I can only imagine the embrace he will be getting from Jesus whom he loved so very much. Thank you for touching all our lives Dr. Ravi.🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼 . 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought an excellent fight. I have finished my full course and I've kept my heart full of faith.

Ravi Zacharias founded Zacharias International Ministries in 1984 and launched a global team of nearly 100 scholars and authors who continue to “speak, resource, train, and address the questions of millions around the world,” a news release said.

In a statement released by Michael Ramsden, president of Zacharias International Ministries, he said, “Ravi saw the objections and questions of others not as something to be rebuffed, but as a cry to be answered.

“People weren't logical problems waiting to be solved; they were people who needed the person of Christ.

"Those who knew him well will remember him for his kindness, gentleness, and generosity of spirit. The love and kindness he had come to know in and through Jesus Christ was the same love he wanted to share with all he met.”

Ravi Zacharias is survived by his wife Margie, and his children Sarah, Naomi, and Nathan.
