VICTON's Sejun is the latest K-pop idol who will be entering the mandatory military enlistment.
In South Korea, military duty is compulsory for all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28.
Korean entertainment site Soompi released an official statement from VICTON's agency IST Entertainment about Sejun's upcoming enlistment slated in June 2023.
The statement reads, “We are making an announcement regarding VICTON's Lim Sejun's military enlistment.
“On June 13, Lim Sejun will enter a military training center to undergo basic military training, after which he will carry out his military duty in the army as an active-duty soldier.”
“In order to prevent on-site confusion, the time and location of his enlistment will not be made public, and there will be no public event on the day of his enlistment. We ask for your understanding in this regard,” IST Entertainment added.
“Please give lots of support and warm encouragement to Lim Sejun, who will diligently carry out his military duty and return in good health.”
The K-pop boy group VICTON is composed of Seungwoo, Seungsik, Sejun, Hanse, Byungchan, and Soobin.
Meanwhile, Heo Chan left the group in October 2022.
In the same report of Soompi, it stated that Seungsik is already serving his military duty, while Seungwoo was discharged last January.
