Sport fans are either amused or shocked over the viral video featuring German judoka Martyna Trajdos in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Her coach was caught on camera slapping and shaking her before her match against Hungary's Szofi Ozbas in the Round of 32 match in the women's 63kg category.
The International Judo Federation (IJF) denounced what the German coach did to his athlete.
In a Tweet the organization said, “The IJF addressed a serious official warning towards the German coach, concerning the bad behaviour he showed during the competition. Judo is an educational sport and as such cannot tolerate such behaviour, which goes against the judo moral code. #respect”

Meanwhile, the pre-fight ritual of Martyna Trajdos and her coach drew mixed reactions from netizens.

Please ban coaching from judo, it's getting pathetic, behaviours of coaches are againt judo's spirit, now occurs with young competitors and parents everybody shouts on the tatami's side, it's a real shame, time to prove there's still and ethic in that martial art.

She explained, “Look's like this was not hard enough ☺️🙊🙈!
“I wish I could have made a different headline today 😢.
“As I already said that's the ritual which I chose pre competition !
“My coach is just doing what I want him to do to fire me up!”
