The Clash season 4 runner-up Vilmark Viray shared his single, “Lisan” on Spotlight Music Sessions on Friday, January 19.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Vilmark shared how important “Lisan” is to him since it was inspired by his father who recently passed away.

“During the first night ng burol niya, siyempre 'yung emotion, sobrang punong-puno, and 'yung way ko para makapag-cope up din sa situation is 'yung pagsulat ng song,” he said.

In a separate interview, Vilmark shared how writing the song not only helped him cope with the sudden loss of his father but also paved the way for him to heal.

“Ito lang 'yung way ko para makapag-cope during that time, and it helped me a lot to release all that I wanted to say to my father,” he said.

He also admitted that while it is a long process for him and his family to heal, the song has helped to lessen the pain of his passing.

In the GMANetwork.com interview, he mentioned that he has not stopped writing songs and expressed his thanks to GMA Music for releasing “Lisan.” He also mentioned how he's looking forward to writing songs for other artists in the future.

Asked who he has in mind to write a song for, Vilmark revealed that he has already asked Marian Osabel if he can do so and is already talking about it.

“Gusto ko siyang sulatan ng song kasi I know how she's good sa pagkanta atsaka sa pag-deliver ng message ng song and nakausap ko na siya kung anong gusto niyang message na ilabas so I've been working on it,” he shared.

Aside from Marian, Vilmark said that he wants to write a song for fellow Clasher John Rex and write and sing a duet with Asia's Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose someday.
