
American singer-songwriter Chappell Roan finally announced the release date for her newest single, “The Subway,” on Monday, July 28, on her social media accounts.
According to Chappell, “The Subway” is set for release on July 31, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. EST (August 1, 8:00 a.m. PHT).
Chappell announced this with a photo of her buried underneath her red hair and simply wrote on her Instagram account, “The Subway out July 31 8pm EST.”
The singer's announcement garnered love and support from fans all over the world, including The Recording Academy, which said, “T minus 3 days til we get to hear this banger! Counting down the days.”
Before the official announcement, Chappell posted a 30-second teaser on her YouTube account that captured a portion of the highly anticipated song, “I made a promise / If in four months these feelings ain't gone / Well, [...] this city / I'm moving to Saskatchewan.”
This marks official release of “The Subway” after more than a year since Chappell Roan debuted at the Gov Ball 2024, held from June 7, 2024, to June 9, 2024, in Queens, New York City, United States.
She later performed the song on her shows and festivals in different parts of the US.
Chappell Roan rose to fame in 2024 for her music, often described as a combination of 2000s pop, 1980s synth-pop, and dark pop.
Her work is also dedicated to the inspiration of 2000s pop, drag, and campy aesthetic.
