The popularity of bicycles has risen in the aftermath of the pandemic. Nowadays, bikes have become a necessity for some and a hobby for others.
It's a welcome development and bike lanes have popped up in some parts of the cities and provinces.
Speaking of which, a bike tour is set to take place on July 17 and organized by the National Bicycle Organization (NBO) and Robinsons Place Manila.
The fun tour will see participants pedal around Manila to visit the city's cultural and historical sites.
These places are the National Museum, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila City Hall, Quiapo bike shops, Quiapo Church, Manila Cathedral and Plaza Roma in Intramuros, Kilometer Zero, and Rizal Monument.
The bike tour is open to the public, with new riders encouraged to join the event.
Joiners will meet at Robinsons Place Manila's Bike Repair Station near the main entrance along Pedro Gil Street.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early before the 4 p.m. ride. There will be an orientation and riders will have the chance to check and fix their bikes to ensure safety.
