Voltes V: Legacy director Mark Reyes shared another interesting story from his "Voltes V: Legacy Diaries" while shooting the action-packed drama.
In his Instagram post on Monday, May 16, he said directing the series is not all roses as he encountered difficult situations like shooting the flight training scenes of the Voltes V team.
Mark recalled, "The flight training scenes were one of the more difficult shoots we had in the series.
"We shot at the Subic Airport on an extremely hot summer day.
"The cast may look cool and tough in these pictures. But the minute they go off frame from the cameras, they scramble like chickens to find shade and gulp up a lot of water. "
Good thing, the cast had something to take inspiration from as they watched the American action drama film Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise, before filming the actual scene where the cast rode the fighter jets.
The director went on, "It also helped that I brought the cast to watch the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick a few days before this shoot as motivation. In fact, I was playing the Top Gun Anthem while filming this scene for inspiration. I think it did the trick. #favoriteshot @voltesvlegacy @migueltanfelix_ @radsonflores @ysabel_ortega @mattlozanomusic @jamirzabarte @sophiasenoron @_ellevillanueva"
